Double Axel to kick off the second annual Norfolk Concert Series

NORFOLK – The Norfolk Concert Series kicks off its second season Friday, June 30 with North Country favorite Double Axel at 6 p.m. Rain date is Sunday, July 2.

All performances are in Norfolk Memorial Garden Park on Main Street and begin at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Saturday, July 8: 1 Voice Gospel

• Wednesday, July 12: Lacey Stoddard

• Saturday, July 15: Picnic in the Park with storyteller Lorraine Hartin: Grades K-4, 3:30-4:15 p.m.; Grades 5 – 8, 4:45 – 5:30 p.m.; free hotdogs, chips and slushies for kids through Grade 8, 4:15 – 4:45 p.m.; The Wild Roses perform from 6 – 8 p.m.

All Concerts are free but donations are gratefully accepted.

Chris Paige, the concert founder, started the series to provide a venue for local musicians to perform. She also hopes it will bring attention to the downtown area and encourage new businesses as well as increase revenue to existing ones.
