A Massena native now residing in Vermont will be competing for Miss Vermont’s Teen through the Miss America organization April 15-16 in Stowe, Vt.
Aubrianna Mayette, the daughter of Carmela Mayette, are both Massena born and raised natives, relocated to Northern Vermont four years ago.
Aubrianna attended Madison Elementary School in Massena up until middle of 5th grade. She is now a freshman in high school at Enosburgh Falls High School. They still visit family in Massena, including her grandparents Christine and Terry Tessier, Mike and Cindy Mayette, and Joe and Candy Major.
Aubrianna’s Community Support and Improvement (CSI) is B.E.A.R. – Be Excited About Reading. She is working to make reading for more fun and create environments more enjoyable for young children and her peers to enjoy reading.
She also has been collecting new and gently used books that she gives out at local community events free of charge to kids. She plans to collect and pass out more than 1,000 books to local families throughout the community in Vermont.
She works two part time jobs one is a nursing home as a dishwasher and the second is a character player for an event group VT charming events. She often plays Anna from Frozen for princess breakfast events and birthday parties.
She is a straight A student and won the Presidential Award of Excellence last year at junior high graduation along with several other academic awards. She is also enrolled in the JROTC program offered at Enosburgh.
