On 275th anniversary, Fort La Présentation presents honors at award ceremony in Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG — The Fort La Présentation annual dinner and award ceremony was held on Friday evening at the Inn at the Gran View.

The event celebrated the 275th anniversary of Abbe Francois choosing the confluence of the St. Lawrence and Oswegatchie rivers as the site of the fort.

This year the Fort is honoring author and District 1 St. Lawrence County Legislator James E. Reagen with the Persis Yates Boysen Award.

The award is “presented to the individuals or organizations who have made an outstanding contribution to sponsor the historically accurate reconstruction and ongoing presence of Fort La Presentation,” the Fort said in a press release.

The David L. Dickinson Annual Volunteer Award for “Outstanding Commitment of Time and Effort to Fort De La Présentation” was presented to Jody Tosti and B99.3FM Radio.

The Joseph Cosentino Award for” Special Recognition for Generous Commitment of Self and Resources to the Fort De La Présentation Project” was presented to Father F. James Shurtleff.
