POTSDAM — Over 400 people turned out for the Potsdam Back to School Fair held at the New Hope Community Church Saturday, Aug. 19, despite the wet, cool weather.
A long line of students and children were lined up before the start of the event, eagerly waiting for free school supplies and clothing, including books, calculators, backpacks, socks and shoes.
Healthcare organizations passed out information, as well as water bottles and frisbees.
The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office made identification cards for interested families.
An inflatable bounce house and slide, games, and a free lunch were also offered at the fair.
