Partridge Run Golf Course director approved for another five years

CANTON – The director of golf at the Partridge Run Golf Course in Canton is on board for another five years.

On Wednesday night, the village board approved the 5-year deal with Kevin Maginn, who has served in this capacity for the past 23 years. The contract runs through Nov. 1, 2028.

The contract labels Maginn as an independent contractor who will provide services in connection with the marketing, management and operation of the golf course.

Maginn will not be an employee of the village and this position will not be governed by the rules of the classified civil service,” the contract reads.

A thorough list of duties within the contractual agreement includes that Maginn will be responsible for hiring and paying salaries, withholding and benefit premiums/assessments of all staff he will need to operate the pro shop and to maintain and manage play on the golf course,” the contract states.

The base payment for each season [March 20 to Nov. 1] is as follows: $92,220.33 for 2024; $94,064.74 for 2025; $95,946.03 for 2026; $97,864.95 for 2027; and $99,822.25 for 2028.

Mayor Michael Dalton said a key element in the contract focuses on succession planning in the third year of the agreement.

The Partridge Run Golf golf course closed for the season on Sunday, Oct. 22.
