MACOMB — An Amish home burned Friday night due to an improperly installed woodstove, according to Morristown Fire Department member Kevin Crosby.
The blaze at 328 Mitchell Road was reported to Morristown Fire and Rescue around 5:48 p.m. Dec. 22 and firefighters were on scene 11 minutes later, Crosby said.
The structure was reportedly fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
Crosby said firefighters stretched two 1 ¾ inch attack lines to combat the fire and got it under control in about 15 minutes.
Morristown fire was assisted on scene by Heuvelton & Brier Hill fire departments and the Morristown Auxiliary.
The unoccupied building was a complete loss and the cause of the fire has been listed as an improperly installed woodstove and chimney.
There were no injuries and Morristown Fire was back in service at 8:37 p.m.
