New York is sending its ace to the bump as Gerrit Cole will make his final start before the All-Star Break. Cole was handed his second loss of the season last time out despite giving up only two runs and six hits in six innings on July 2 versus the St. Louis Cardinals. After a tough month of May (5.18 ERA in 33 innings), the now six-time All-Star has gotten back on track. Cole’s given up three or fewer runs in six straight starts and has pitched at least six innings in five of those outings.

Drew Smyly will make his 18th appearance of the season for the Cubs. The 12-year-veteran has struggled since getting off to a 5-1 start. Smyly’s 2-4 in his prior seven appearances and has only made it to the sixth inning twice in that span.

This is one of 20 Yankees games streaming on the platform during the 2023 regular season. YES Network’s broadcast team is producing 30-minute pregame shows, with Michael Kay calling the games flanked alongside David Cone, Paul Oโ€™Neill, John Flaherty and Jeff Nelson.

According to Amazon, the games will be available for replay on Prime Video for 48 hours following their conclusion. Prime Videoโ€™s live Yankees games will be available to MLB.TV subscribers outside the Yankeesโ€™ home-team footprint of New York, Connecticut, north and central New Jersey and Northeast Pennsylvania. New members can get a 30-day free trial.ย Click here for more information.
