Watkins Glen International’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event will again shine a spotlight on the significance of first responders, flight crews and emergency personnel.
Jeb Burton will be behind the wheel as the No. 27 Chevy Camaro of the Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport team carries the “2nd Chances” homage on its front during the Shriner’s Children’s 200 at The Glen on Saturday. On the back is a reminder to “Slow Down, Move Over” for those responding to emergencies.
The previous two years at WGI, Fleur De Lis Motorsports and MBM Motorsports partnered to showcase the message, with Timmy Hill handling driving duties.
Seneca Falls native Craig Partee is owner of Fleur De Lis Motorsports and is a member of the Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito team.
A story behind the message
Partee and others were dismantling an 1800s barn on June 26, 2020, near Farmington – an Ontario County town about 20 miles from Rochester – when a shift of the roof left his life hanging in the balance as others scrambled to safety, some suffering minor injuries.

Partee suffered six broken ribs, a punctured lung, fractures and torn tendons in both ankles, a nicked liver and lacerations. The quick response of emergency personnel helped save his life and the “2nd Chances” car is his way of saying thanks while bringing awareness.
“The 2nd Chances tribute car is a heartfelt expression of my immense appreciation for the exceptional individuals who courageously step up in times of crisis,” Partee said in a press release. “They played a pivotal role in my own life, rescuing me from a dire situation and providing unwavering care. This initiative is a testament to their remarkable contributions.”
