The Open Championship 2023 odds, picks & predictions to win

The fourth and final major of the 2023 golf season will tee off Thursday morning with the 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, Merseyside, England.

Wyndham Clark shocked the golf world when he held off major champions Rory Mcllroy and Scottie Scheffler to win his first major of his career at the U.S. Open at the Los Angeles Country Club on June 18.

In the tune up to the Open Championship, Mcllroy, won the Genesis Scottish Open this past weekend by one stroke over Scotland native Robert MacIntyre.

Mcllroy is the odds-on-favorite to win his second Claret Jug at +650 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The 34-year-old is the favorite for good reason as six straight Top 10 finishes including the runner-up finish to Clark a month ago and a seventh-place finish at the Masters in April. It should be noted that the Northern Ireland-born Mcllroy won his lone Open Championship at the Liverpool Golf Club in 2014.

Here’s a look at three golfers, including one player at 60-1 odds, to win the 2023 Open Championship at DraftKings Sportsbook.

1. Scottie Scheffler (+700)

Scheffler is slightly behind Mcllroy and for good reason. The Ridgewood, New Jersey, native has finished in the Top 5 in seven events in a row and has only one finish outside the Top 10, which was at the end of October. Scheffler had his worst outcome in a major since 2019 at last year’s Open Championship when he finished tied for 21st at St. Andrews in Scotland.

If you don’t believe Scheffler will win his first Open Championship, lock him in to finish inside the Top 10 at -140 on DraftKings Sportsbook. He’s ended each major this season with a 10th or better finish and in seven of his last 10 majors.

One of the most consistent golfers in recent memory, bet on Scheffler to win his first major this season.

2. Viktor Hovland (+2200)

Viktor Hovland won the Memorial Tournament on Sunday in a playoff over Denny McCarthy.

Coming in at 22/1 odds is Hovland. While he’s yet to win a major, the 25-year-old has steadily improved year over year. After failing to make the cut in the 2022 U.S. Open, the…
