Buffalo missed Monday’s snowfall. It won’t miss Wednesday’s

Buffalo and areas north are expected to get their first measurable snow of the season Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologist Steven Welch said the metro area should expect 1 to 3 inches of snow Wednesday, with up to 4 inches in some inland areas.

“The main snow is expected in the morning … into about mid-morning,” Welch said, adding that there will be “some lingering snow” throughout the day with light accumulation.ย 

Motorists should allot extra time for their commute and remember to keep a safe distance from the vehicles ahead of them.ย 

More snow is possible the rest of the week in the higher terrains, in southern Erie County and southern Wyoming County. Most areas on Friday will experience rain showers, including the metro area.ย 

A band of lake-effect snow moved north Monday, causing heavy snowfall in Southtowns.
