In most of the world, Taylor Swift’s appearance at a football game this weekend was all about who she is dating.
But in offices in Buffalo, chances are good that it was about whom she was wearing.
A new era in Swift’s love life touched down Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri, and it’s a potential boon for New Era Cap Co., the Delaware Avenue-headquartered maker of the jacket she may have been wearing when it happened.

Swift had been rumored to be dating NFL football player Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. But the two had not gone public until Sunday’s Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears, when she was spotted watching the game from behind the glass in a suite with Kelce’s mom, wearing a red and white Kansas City Chiefs jacket and cheering the Chiefs’ win.
Fans, who follow Swift’s love life as closely as they’ve followed her juggernaut, sold-out musical tour Eras, went wild. The hashtag #Swelce, a mashup of the couple’s last names, began trending.

Attention swiftly turned to the red and white, zip-front windbreaker the pop icon was sporting. The jacket was identified by fashion industry trade bible Women’s Wear Daily as a New Era Cap Co. model, using the company’s name in a headline and elaborating on the rest of Swift’s ensemble, which included “a white Dôen pointelle tank top, black Ksubi shorts and gold jewelry.”
But if you want to be like Swift and pick up a Chiefs jacket of your own, good luck finding it.
