A portion of I-86 in Chautauqua County will be closed at times during the coming week because of an ongoing construction project, the state Department of Transportation announced.
The closings will take place in the vicinity of the bridges over Chautauqua Lake, between Exit 9, Route 430, Bemus Point, and Exit 11, Route 430, Strunk Road, Jamestown.
The ramp from eastbound I-86 to westbound Route 430, at Exit 10, Long Point State Park, will be closed from 7 a.m. Monday until about 6 a.m. Saturday.
Westbound I-86 will be closed between Exit 10 and Exit 9 overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Tuesday until Friday. Detour signs will be posted.
The highway then will be closed completely in both directions overnight from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday,ย I-86 will reopen with one lane of traffic in each direction, crossing Chautauqua Lake on the westbound bridge. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction for the rest of this year’s construction season.
