Hazardous household waste collection set for Saturday in Lockport

Registrations are available for Niagara County’s next household hazardous waste collection from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lockport Town Hall, 6560 Dysinger Road, Town of Lockport, County Legislator Will Collins announced.

Latex and oil-based paint will be accepted, along with wood stains and preservatives, automotive fluids, pesticides and fertilizers, gasoline, kerosene and solvents, household cleaners, pool chemicals and fluorescent bulbs.

Fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and propane tanks are considered specialty items and will be accepted for a fee, payable by cash or a check made out to Hazman.

Alkaline batteries, motor oil, electronic items and explosives will not be accepted.
