A Town of Lockport man was charged early Saturday morning after he allegedly fled a traffic stop and led sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit that ended on foot.
Christopher R. Boyd, 21, is charged with reckless driving and third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.ย He was released on an appearance ticket.
The pursuit started at 12:36 a.m. Saturday when a sheriff’s deputy noticed a vehicle driving without its headlights on, the Sheriff’s Office said. When the deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, the vehicle fled and led the deputy on a pursuit through the city and town of Lockport.
The vehicle, operated by Boyd, pulled into an address on Dysinger Road before Boyd and his passenger fled on foot.
Both were detained after a brief pursuit on foot.
