The Massachusetts Avenue Project will hold its annual Spring Seedling Sale on Saturday at its urban farm at 387 Massachusetts Ave. on Buffalo’s West Side.
The event, which is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature more than 70 varieties of seeds for flowering plants, vegetables and herbs for sale at $4 apiece. Also featured will be 15 local vendors that will provide a diverse array of food and beverages for purchase. Admission is free.
Diane Picard, executive director of the Massachusetts Avenue Project, said the organization’s seedling sale “has served as an opportunity to promoteย food sovereignty and empower folks to connect with the land and grow their own food.”
“Last year, we sold over 2,500 seedlings and we are thrilled to once again open our doors for this important community-building event in support of our local food system,” Picard said in a statement.
Also scheduled to appear at the event will representatives fromย Grassroots Gardens WNY, the Tool Library and Greater Buffalo Urban Growers, among others.
