Pennsylvania man to serve 14 years in prison for 2022 rape of 13-year-old

A Pennsylvania man was sentenced Thursday to 14 years in prison for the 2022 rape of a 13-year-old child in the Town of Evans.

Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi sentenced Jacob Pearson, 39, of Wilcox, Pa. to 10 years of post-release supervision, as well. Pearson will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.

Prosecutors said Pearson and his victim knew each other when they had sexual intercourse. Pearson pleaded guilty to first-degree rape in December. An order of protection on behalf of the victim will remain in effect until 2055.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn in a news release commended Det. Ken Kloss of the Evans Police Department for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Meredith M. Mohun of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau.
