Gary Bienkowski, president of the Chopin Singing Society, will be honored as Western New York Polish American Citizen of the Year at the annual Pulaski Day Dinner at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at Kloc’s Grove, 1245 Seneca Creek Road, West Seneca, the General Pulaski Association announced.
The dinner also will honor home improvement contractor Gary Halicki as Western New York Polish American Business Owner of the Year. Former Buffalo Common Council Member David Fronczyk will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Chinese Club of Western New York will be honored as Cultural Organization of the Year.
Before the dinner, the annual wreath laying ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. at the General Casimir Pulaski statue next to the Ellicott Square in downtown Buffalo, marking the anniversary of the Revolutionary War hero’s death on Oct. 11, 1779, from wounds suffered in battle.
