Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center has once again expanded its statewide network of community practices and affiliated locations.
The Roswell Park Care Network’s newest practice opened in September at 6000 Brockton Drive in Lockport. It offers general dermatology, surgical oncology and breast surgery consultations, treatment and follow-up care.
“We continue to see a need for community-based practices, especially in northern Western New York,” Dr. Thomas Schwaab, Roswell Park’s chief of strategy, business development and outreach, said in a news release issued Wednesday about the new location.
It is the latest growth for the Care Network, which allows patients to be treated closer to where they live and also boosts Buffalo-based Roswell Park’s geographic reach.
The Care Network is a mix of community practices, such as the one in Lockport, as well as partnerships and affiliations with existing health systems including Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Upper Allegheny Health System in Olean and Bradford, Pa., and Catholic Health of Long Island.
With the addition of Lockport, the Care Network now has 17 locations. Other recent moves for the Care Network have included opening a community physician practice at 2150 Wehrle Drive in Amherst, the relocation of a downtown Niagara Falls site from Fourth Street to a larger space at 10175 Niagara Falls Blvd. and the addition of a location at 23 N. Main St. in Middleport.
