The Buffalo metro area had winners in not just one, but two of Saturday’s lottery drawings, New York Lottery officials announced.
A top-prize winning ticket for Saturday’s Take 5 evening drawing was sold at the 7-Eleven store at 906 Brighton Road in the Town of Tonawanda. It was worth $13,160.50.
Meanwhile, a third-prize ticket for Saturday’s Powerball drawing was purchased at the Tops Markets at 800 Harlem Road in West Seneca. It was worth $50,000. Third prize winners match the Powerball number, plus four other numbers.
Overall, there were three top-prize winners in the Take 5 Saturday evening drawing. They others were sold in Central Square, north of Syracuse, and St. James, a hamlet on Long Island. The winning numbers were 2, 5, 9, 11 and 12.
There were 10 third-prize winning tickets for the Powerball drawing sold in New York State, lottery officials said. Winning numbers were 22, 27, 44, 52 and 69, with a Powerball number of 9.
Take 5 drawings are held twice a day, midday and evening. Players pick five numbers between 1 and 39. Prizes are awarded for matching two or more numbers.
Powerball numbers are drawn from a field of 1 to 26. The other numbers are chosen from a list of 1 to 69. Powerball drawings are held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings.
