If you shopped at Wegmans with a credit card last week, check your credit card statement and make sure you weren’t charged twice.
“We recently identified an issue with credit card transactions processed on August 16th for both in-store and online orders,” the Rochester-based company said in a statement.
Some credit card transactions Aug. 16 were “inadvertently charged twice for their order,” the company said.
Brian Wiser went to Wegmans in Canandaigua the other day for blackberries โ and got more than heโd expected.
Customers who used a debit card and punched in their PIN numbers were not affected. Neither were Electronic Benefit Transfer customers who accessed food stamps.
Wegmans said customers will be refunded for the double purchase without taking any action.
“We are working with our processor to reverse the charges. Customers who have not already seen the charges reversed should see the duplicate charges refunded in the upcoming days,” the company said.
