The 11th annual Shop South Buffalo event, which promotes businesses on Abbott Road, Seneca Street, South Park Avenue and McKinley Parkway, is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Friday and continue all day Saturday.
In addition to two days of shopping, this year’s expanded event coincides with South Buffalo Restaurant Week and features the annual window decorating contest from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday; the ugly sweater pub crawl Saturday; and a gift basket bonanza from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the Blackthorn Restaurant and Pub, 2134 Seneca St. The Blackthorn also will host the Winter Fest After Party from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Two trolley shuttles are scheduled to run from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. For more information, visit southbuffalo.org.
Previously, the event, which caps off the South Buffalo Winter Fest, was presented by South Council Member Chris Scanlon. This year the torch has been passed to the South Buffalo Community Association under the leadership of Executive Director Michael Weidrich to carry on the tradition.
