Courtney Flynn knows all too well that Taylor Swift isn’t bringing her concert tour to Buffalo anytime soon, and that even if she did, the ticket prices would be beyond her wildest dreams.
“I made peace with the fact that I probably won’t ever see her,” said Flynn, 29, a Lockport-based artist, who has been passionate about Taylor Swift and her songs since middle school, when she would listen to “Speak Now” over and over on her iPod.
More than 40 individual screenings are currently scheduled locally on opening day, with more than 80 screenings a day on opening weekend.
Then, a couple of weeks ago, Flynn saw on Swift’s Instagram account that a film version of her Eras Tour concert would be released.
“And I said: ‘OK. This is my concert experience. I am going to go all out for it,’ ” Flynn said.
Flynn snagged tickets for her and her mom to this Friday night’s showing at the IMAX Theatre at the Regal Transit Center. Flynn plans to dress in all black, a la Swift’s “Reputation” album. Flynn and her mom โ who she describes as a “Baby Swiftie,” just learning the ways of Swiftdom โ will both be bringing glow-in-the-dark friendship bracelets.
