A Town of Alexander man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child for nearly 12 years, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said.
John P. Volpe, 71, was arrested March 7 at his residence on Buffalo Street Road after detectives and FBI agents executed a search warrant there, officials said.
Volpe has been accused of engaging in numerous acts of sexual conduct with a child he knew beginning around 2012 and lasting until 2024, the Sheriff’s Office said.
He faces a litany of felony criminal charges, including rape, sexual abuse and predatory sexual assault, police said.
Volpe was arraigned and held on $20,000 bail, the Sheriff’s Office said.
