Two men sentenced for their roles in Jamestown drug ring

Two men involved in a Jamestown drug ring were sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Buffalo.

Michael Murphy, 31, of Jamestown, who was convicted of narcotics conspiracy, was sentenced to serve 16 years in prison, while Jarrod Adams, 43, of Erie, Pa., who was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, received a nine year sentence.

Murphy is accused of buying, selling and distributing methamphetamine, using Facebook to conduct his drug trafficking operation.

In November 2019, investigators recovered methamphetamine, illicit mushrooms, other drug paraphernalia, two firearms, ammunition and $1,642 in cash during a search of Murphyโ€™s Newland Avenue residence.

Several months earlier, Murphy, a federal fugitive at the time, was taken into custody along with co-conspirator Jarrod Adams after a search of a Bishop Street residence revealed a quantity of methamphetamine, $1,476 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Prosecutors said Murphy received his supply from Adams and Rocco Beardsley, who is scheduled to go to trial in March.
