UB lecture to explore mind/body relationship in treating migraines

The 21st annual Lawrence and Nancy Golden Lectureship in Mind Body Medicine will explore the potential for mindfulness to benefit those who suffer from migraine headaches.

The free lecture, which is geared toward medical students but open to the public, will take place at noon Thursday at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, 955 Main St.ย  ย 

The featured speaker will be Dr. Rebecca Erwin Wells, a professor of neurology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. The title of Wells’ lecture is “Does Mindfulness Help Migraine? My Journey to Understanding this Question,” and will be held in Room 2120 A&B.

She is the founder and director of Comprehensive Headache Program in Winston-Salem.ย Wells obtained her master’s degree in public health from Harvard. She completed fellowships in Integrative Medicine and Headache Medicine from Harvard.
