West Herr Automotive Group already gets plenty of attention for its dealerships through its sponsorship agreement with Josh Allen.
But by raffling off the Buffalo Bills quarterback’s truck, the dealership group took its sponsorship – and brand – to a whole new level.
West Herr Automotive Group will be giving away the 2019 Ford F150 Raptor Truck once driven by Allen as part of a contest aimed at raising funds to benefit John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital.
A six-week promotional contest, “Win Josh’s Truck or $100,000,” gave the winner their choice of the Ford F150 Shelby Raptor Pickup Truck that Allen once owned and drove, which is now autographed, or a $100,000 monetary prize.
The contest generated more than 550,000 entries across Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, as well as plenty of social media discussion, with many people debating what they would choose if they won. Participants were able to enter the contest once a day from Sept. 1 through Oct. 16.
“The amount of attention this got and the amount of people that may have learned more about West Herr because of it is remarkable,” said Scott Bieler, president and CEO of West Herr. “There was a lot of vibe about it, and it was all positive.”
