A woman was killed Thursday when she was ejected from a vehicle as it traveled on the Kensington Expressway, according to Cheektowaga police.
In a Facebook post Thursday evening, the department said it received calls about 6:30 p.m. about the incident that occurred on the westbound or inbound side of the Kensington between Cayuga and Union roads.
The post said a 21-year-old woman was located in the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not released.
An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the incident and death. No other information was immediately available.
The westbound Kensington – also known as Route 33 – between Cayuga and Union roads will be closed thorough the night and into the morning commute as the investigation continues.
