SHRUB OAK – The pilot of a single-engine Cessna plane that crashed in Shrub Oak at noon on Thursday walked away from the wreckage with only minor injuries, Yorktown Police said.
The pilot was taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment and observation.
The plane went down on the property of the Shrub Oak International School. There were no other injuries.
Police said it appears the aircraft experienced a mechanical malfunction, police said.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration were notified about the incident.
