GOSHEN – A powerful thunderstorm swept through Orange County Friday evening, leaving a lot of damage behind.
Firefighters in Campbell Hall had to cut away downed trees on several roads.
Central Hudson utility crews say a woman inadvertently drove right into a downed tree on Route 207. Her car wound up wedged under branches and wires. Amazingly she was not hurt.
In the nearby Town of Wallkill, hailstones fell, and a large tree toppled onto powerlines at Lybolt and Hufcut roads.
Power had to be briefly cut in those areas so utility crews could repair the downed wires.
There was also reported tree damage and flooding in Cornwall.
