CITY OF HUDSON – A 31-year-old City of Hudson man has been arrested and charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon – one count for being previously convicted, and unlawful possession of a certain ammunition device.
Stephen Pabon, who is a three time convicted felon, was arrested on Monday, August 7 following an investigation into a July 20 incident in which he reportedly shot himself in the leg and then got into a car accident involving a COARC van.
He was treated at the scene and airlifted to Albany Medical Center.
Prior to police arrival at the accident scene, witnessed observed Pabon get out of his vehicle after crashing into the COARC van three times.
Once outside, he was seen dumping a loaded gun down a sewer train, which was later retrieved by a police officer.
No other injuries were reported.
On August 7, Pabon turned himself in to the State Police in Latham on unrelated charges. He was arraigned and released on the criminal charges in Latham and troopers turned him over to Hudson City Police where he was wanted on an active arrest warrant for the felony gun charges.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
