DEERPARK- The largest multi-cultural event in the Tri-state region, celebrating one of Asia’s most revered holidays.
The 8th annual Moon Festival takes place on Saturday, September 16, 2023, and Sunday, September 17, 2023, at New Century, 517 Neversink Drive, Port Jervis NY 12771.
“It was a wonderful, warm, inviting community event — a true vision of what our world could be,” said Andrea, who has attended the festival in the past.
In 2022, the Moon Festival attracted over 15,000 visitors and 140 local vendors during the two-day event, introducing local patrons to ancient traditions, mystical legends, and timeless, universal values. This year, over 20,000 festival-goers are anticipated along with 200 local vendors.
“It was so wonderful to be surrounded by such happiness, gratitude, and positivity,” said Melissa, a vendor who has displayed at the festival in years past.
Generations, young and old, connect with each other and the local community through soaring music of the erhu, pipa, and other traditional Chinese instruments; tasting moon cakes and authentic cuisine from different regions in China, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan; dragon and lion dances; and fun kids activities, such as crafting lanterns and lucky moon rabbits, as well as hopping in the moon bounce. It’s a time of great celebration, family reunion, and gratitude for the blessings and gifts given by Heaven above.
New Century’s 40-acre property is the Tri-state area’s premier venue for fairs, festivals, markets, and family-friendly activities, creating strong bonds in the community.
