HYDE PARK – A 23-year-old Poughkeepsie man was killed early Sunday morning in a one-car crash while he was driving on East Market Street in Hyde Park. Two passengers were also injured.
Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson said the initial investigation revealed that the 2011 BMW was traveling west on East Market Street when it left the roadway and struck a tree near Bower Boulevard at approximately 5:45 a.m. Sunday.
A 22-year-old Hyde Park man was critically injured and rushed to a local hospital.
A third passenger, a 24-year-old Hyde Park man, was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
Both injured men were transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital for treatment.
Benson declined to release the identities of the three victims pending notification of relatives.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team, County Department of Emergency Response, Hyde Park Fire Department and Northern Dutchess Paramedics assisted with the investigation.
