POUGHKEEPSIE – A 59-year-old parolee from the Town of Poughkeepsie was arrested Wednesday after an investigation following his July arrest indicated that he had returned to selling fentanyl. Timothy Robinson, arrested in July on felony drug charges, was released from the Dutchess County Jail and immediately resumed his drug trafficking, according to Dutchess County Drug Task Force (DCDTF) Detective Sergeant Adam Harris, the unit’s supervisor.
On August 30th, members of the DCDTF took Robinson into custody on Mansion Street and charged him with felony criminal sale of a controlled substance.
When he was arrested in July, he was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail by a city court judge. When he appeared in Dutchess County Court, he was released from jail due to New York State’s bail reform laws. Upon release sources say, he allegedly went right back to his illegal business. After his Wednesday arrest, he was once again remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
“The Dutchess County Drug Task Force is going to continue to arrest drug dealers. The state laws allow dealers to get right back to business after arrest, so we will continue to arrest them each time we catch them selling poison,” Detective Sergeant Harris said, and issued a warning to drug dealers by adding “If you decide to sell your poison in our communities, you will end up in handcuffs.”
The DCDTF is also asking anyone who has information about the activities of Munoz or anyone else suspected of illegal drug sales to call the task force’s confidential tip line at 845-463-6040 or email the information to [email protected].
The DCDTF consists of officers from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Hyde Park PD, Town of Fishkill PD, Town of East Fishkill PD, the City of Beacon PD, and the City of Poughkeepsie PD.
