MONTICELLO – In an effort to keep the motoring public safe, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office deployed extra DWI patrols over the Labor Day Weekend.
On Saturday night, September 2, at around 11 p.m., deputies stopped a 2007 Ford Edge sedan on East Broadway in Monticello.
The vehicle was being driven by 36-year-old Luis Class of Monticello. He was allegedly driving while intoxicated with 36 previous active suspensions on his license for failing to answer summonses and one for failing to pay child support.
Class was charged with the felony of aggravated unlicensed operation and two counts of misdemeanor DWI.
Under current state law, he was released on an appearance ticket pending a future court date in the Town of Thompson.
