NEWBURGH – Newburgh School Board President Darren Stridiron, who has been the driving force to clean up the school district from what he believes to be years of corruption from the highest levels down to some teachers in the case of the attendance rigging scandal involving athletes, is being attacked again by his fellow board members.
In past years, he has been shouted down by other members behind closed doors.
Now the board has called a special meeting for Saturday afternoon to be held in executive session.
The board will meet “for the purpose of discussing proposed litigation in the nature of a petition to the commissioner of education for removal of a board of education officer and a member of the board.”
Should the board vote to pursue removal of Stridiron, the education commissioner would have the final say.
