LIBERTY – A 41-year-old Liberty man has been arrested by Village of Liberty Police and charged with assault with a knife.
Yockol Powell was arrested on Wednesday, October 11 at about 12:30 p.m. after they responded to a report of a man being cut with a knife at the Liberty Motel. The victim suffered a laceration to his head.
Investigation by Liberty Village Police led to Powell’s arrest in another room at the motel. He was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence, all as felonies.
Powell was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
