WOODBURY- The 28th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Hudson Valley will turn the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets pink on Sunday morning, as more than 5,000 people are expected to gather in celebration of courage and hope with a common goal: to end breast cancer. The event is being sponsored by the American Cancer Society and Garnet Health Medical Center.
In 2023, more than 18,000 women in New York will be diagnosed with breast cancer and there are more than 4 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. today.

The survival rate from breast cancer has increased as a result of awareness, mammography screening, and advancements in medical treatments. Since 1993, the American Cancer Society has invested more than $600 million in breast cancer research.
The goal of Sunday’s walk is to celebrate breast cancer survivors, offer support for individuals battling breast cancer, increase awareness about the importance of cancer screening, and raise funds for a cure.
