So what exactly are they fighting about?
According to Heavy.com, the beef started when Revis took issue with comments Cromartie made about him on “The Jake Asman Show” back in January. Clips of the interview resurfaced after Cromartie joined the Jets coaching staff as an intern in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship.
In a since-deleted tweet, screenshotted by the uSTADIUM X account, Cromartie wrote:
“So now I’m gettin attacked by this Lame dude @Revis24 for doin an interview w/ @JakeAsman. And I talked gr8 about him. Now I’m jealous and a Lame! Dude how am I jealous. Bruh you have your gold jacket off 3 and half yrs of gr8 play. The other 6[?]. NY media, Rex, and DT made U.”
Revis then ripped Cromartie by responding with footage from the 2011 season opener against the Cowboys:
“@CRO31 This was your assignment. My assignment was Miles Austin. Dez scored on you. Rex and DT said you can’t cover and told me to make the switch on Dez. I never studied Dez you did and look what happened. I guess New York media, Rex, and DT did make me do someone else’s job.”
Revis, a four-time first-team All-Pro (2009-2011, 2014) was selected by the Jets as the 14th player overall in the 2007 NFL Draft. He spent the majority of his 11-year career with the Jets. He was inducted into the Jets’ Ring of Honor in 2022 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2023.
