WAPPINGERS FALLS – The last home game of the 2023 Hudson Valley Renegades resulted in a loss to the Greenville Drive in game one of the South Atlantic League Championship series on Sunday. The Renegades have two more chances to capture the title, with game two of the three-game series being played on Tuesday in Greenville, SC. The High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees must win on Tuesday in order to force the deciding game on Wednesday at the home stadium of the Drive.
The Greenville Drive, the High-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, shut out the Hudson Valley Renegades 2-0 in Game 1 of the South Atlantic Championship Series on Sunday afternoon at Heritage Financial Park.
The Renegades’ starting pitcher Jackson Fristoe tossed four scoreless innings in his High-A debut. He threw 56 pitches including 38 strikes, and struck out five over four innings in front of 3,069 fans in the stadium.
The Renegades and Drive travel to Greenville for Game Two of the Championship Series being played Tuesday night. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with coverage on the Renegades Baseball Network beginning at 6:45 p.m.
