SCARSDALE – The Scarsdale police are investigating the robbery and car theft that left a village resident standing in front of his home watching his vehicle being driven away by the robbers. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at approximately 7:15 a.m.
According to police, the man had exited his Edgewood Road home and was walking toward his BMW SUV that was parked on the street. While heading to his car, he was approached by three men who displayed what the victim believes to have been a handgun. The perpetrators demanded the victim’s property and car keys.
After getting the keys, the three men stole the BMW and drove west on Edgewood Road, and then drove south on Bronx River Parkway.
The suspects arrived in what police say is a light-colored Dodge Charger with New Jersey plates. Scarsdale Police Department detectives are collaborating with area agencies in New York and New Jersey in an attempt to locate the stolen vehicle, and the accomplice vehicle, and to identify the suspects.
