HIGHLAND – Nighttime milling and paving work is scheduled to take place this week at the Mid-Hudson Bridge between Poughkeepsie and Highland.
Work begins nightly from now through Saturday, September 16 from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. with it expected to conclude by Sunday, September 17 at 5:30 a.m.
Work is taking place along the entire bridge, the westbound section of the west approach, as well as the Route 9W interchange ramps.
During the project on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, there will be one alternating lane of traffic on the span itself.
Beginning on Wednesday night, westbound traffic will be detoured along Haviland Road through Johnson-Iorio Park, heading toward Route 9W n the Town of Lloyd.
Some aspects of the work are weather dependent.
Motorists traveling at night are advised to allow extra time or to use alternative crossings at the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge or Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge during the project.
