GOSHEN – A 23-year-old-Middletown man was sentenced on Thursday to eight years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision in connection with his guilty plea for possessing a loaded handgun he used to shoot another man in the City of Middletown.
Tyshawn Milligan pled to the charges of criminal possession of a weapon and assault.
As admitted during his plea, in charging documents and comments made in court, on June 14, 2022, police in Middletown responded to reports of shots fired. Officers located an individual with a gunshot wound to his right forearm.
Investigation led police to develop Milligan as a suspect and learned he had an argument with the victim which led to the shooting.
Afterwards Milligan fled and was later arrested.
He admitted in court before Judge Craig Stephen Brown that he possessed the loaded gun and shot the victim.
