PLEASANT VALLEY – The Pleasant Valley Fire District is $100,000 closer to completing the “Mill Pump” replacement project after receiving a donation from a major business in town on Thursday. The project has been in the planning stages since the district received a $300,000 Municipal Innovation Grant (MIG) in July 2022. Helping the fire department get their most important tool, water, just makes sense to the Peckham family.”
Fire District Board President Jim Albrecht was pleased with the contribution. “This is just one more example of the commitment Peckham has to Pleasant Valley. We are looking forward to getting this project back on track so we can bring water to the firehouse and our apparatus. Peckham is really reducing the burden on our taxpayers with this generous donation.”
District Commissioner Melissa Lawlor was excited about the Peckham gift. “With the money from the county and this sizeable contribution, we are positioned to get this project back on track. The project is estimated at $800,000 to complete and we are already halfway there. Through fiscally conservative budget management, the board is prepared to finance the remainder of the project to get the water we desperately need.”
The project includes…
