TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Two Bronx women were arrested Tuesday afternoon by Town of Newburgh Police following a menacing incident at the Newburgh Inn, formerly the Hudson Valley Inn, on Route 17K.
Police had responded for a report of a woman with a gun, pointing it at two men in a vehicle. The victims told police ran into the hotel after one pulled a weapon.
Investigation found the women in a guest room, but refused to come out until the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group was called in.
Shortly after their arrival, the women left the room voluntarily and were arrested and the weapon, which turned out to be a pistol-style BB gun, was recovered in the room.
Charged with menacing were Jolisse Gonzalez, 24, and 26-year-old Maria Santos-Arias. Santos-Arias was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
As per state bail reform, both women were released on appearance tickets.
