CITY OF HUDSON – A 70-year-old City of Hudson man was arrested on an active felony arrest warrant for two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Hudson Police arrested Bernardo Centeno on Tuesday. He was previously convicted of the weapon’s charge and menacing.
On Tuesday, October 10, Hudson Police received information from a social media post that Centeno deliberately destroyed the artwork of a local artist, an act that was witnessed and recorded by another local resident.
Centeno’s response to the confrontation was one of violence, threatening the man with a bat and knife while using racist language, police said.
Police spoke to the female victim who said that on October 8, Centeno was seen peeling paint off an artist’s murals on the 400 block of Prison Alley.
When the victim questioned Centeno, he allegedly grabbed a bat and swung it at him and then grabbed a knife and threatened him.
The victim was not injured.
Police said charges related to the destroyed artwork are pending.
Centeno was arraigned and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
