STEWART AIRPORT – Several hundred people packed into the passenger terminal at New York Stewart International Airport this morning to send off participants in Hudson Valley Honor Flight number 31.
The flights alternate between Stewart and Westchester County Airport.
The flights are meant to take veterans and their chaperones on a tour of the various historic sites and monuments in the nation’s capital and then return home the same evening.
Among those on today’s flight is retired Town of Wallkill DPW employee Mike Cody.
He is a Vietnam War hero who was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, presented to him by General William Westmoreland.
