Albany man sentenced in Ulster County for illegal gun possession

KINGSTON – A 26-year-old Albany man has been sentenced in Ulster County Court to five years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision for felony criminal possession of a weapon.

The grand jury indicted Naveion Kirkley for possessing a loaded 9mm pistol with an altered serial number. He was sentenced on October 12.

State Police apprehended him as he attempted to run from a traffic stop.

The loaded gun was recovered in the center console of the car.

A co-defendant, Naseem Pass, pled guilty last month and faces sentencing in November.
