Poughkeepsie Alderwoman Yvonne Flowers is the mayor-elect in the City of Poghkeepsie capturing 75 percent of the votes. The Democratic candidate defeated Repubican Anthony LaRocca.
Flowers will be the first African American and female mayor in Poughkeepsie.
Newburgh City Mayor Torrance Harvey, a Democrat, has outdistanced his two opponents to win another four-year term.
He was challenged by Republican former city councilman John Guidice and independent Hael Stewart-Fisher.
Harvey outpolled his closest challenger, Stewart-Fisher, by a two-to-one margin.
The mayor said he looks forward to continuing to move the city forward in his new term.
In Kingston, Democratic Mayor Steven Noble, alsdo won re-election defeated Republican Scott Denny by a two-to-one margin.
The race for mayor in the City of Port Jervis is a nail-biter as Republican Dominic Cicalese is ahead of Elizabeth Miller by ony a handful of votes.
