POUGHKEEPSIE – City police, fire, and EMS responded to the 300 block of Main Street just before midnight Saturday for a man who was shot.
The first responders were sent to the Casablanca convenience store at 386 Main Street at 11:52 p.m. for a man who was grazed in the neck by a bullet, according to the caller.
Police arrived and secured the scene so the firefighters and EMTs could arrive and treat the victim.
Just 4 minutes later, the victim was trialed and transported to the hospital by Empress EMS with a Poughkeepsie firefighter on board, assisting with advanced life support measures.
Casablanca has been the scene of numerous violent incidents, including at least one murder.
Earlier this week city police responded to the store for a report of a man threatening another with a gun.
