TOWN OF WALLKILL – There will be no new construction of warehouse and distribution centers in the Town of Wallkill until at least next May as the town board has extended its one-year-old hold on new construction for another six months.
Town Supervisor George Serrano said they want to wait for the results of a master plan report.
“That was extended in November for another six months. I am looking forward to the master plan committee’s doing their review as to what they want to do regarding zoning in the town. And as soon as they give us something more, we will look at it from there,” he said.
The town has been concerned with the number of distribution centers constructed or proposed and wanted to take a hard look at the issue before any additional ones are allowed.
